Picture of cabecou du perigord cheese
Picture depicts one tray with two 1-oz. cheeses.

Cabécou du Perigord is a goat's milk cheese from the Loire region in France; cabécou means little goat. Cabécou du Perigord matures quicky, in 10 days to a maximum of 4 weeks, this is due to its small size, each small disc or button is about 1 ounce in weight.

The rind is thin and evenly yellow in color, the paste has an ivory color, is soft and creamy and melts on your tongue. The flavor is buttery, creamy, slightly lactic flavor with a nutty aroma. After about 2 weeks the delicate rind of this gourmet cheese will be covered with dots of blue mold and its taste is permeated with the flavor of hazelnut.

Each cheese is about 1 ounce in weight and they are packed per two in a small tray. We sell 3 trays at a time; a total of 6 ounces of cheese.
