Sherry, a Spanish fortified wine made from white grapes that are grown near the town of Jerez and it is great aperitif. Clearly Sherry is the English word for Jerez. Sherry is produced in a variety of styles or degustations; fine, manzanilla, amontillado, oloroso or palo cortado.
Our Sherry Cheese Board has a selection of firm and hard cheeses that do not overpower the wine:
Manchego - (8 oz.) Spain's most famous cheese made with sheep's milk. This gourmet cheese has a firm, dry interior and a nutty, mellow flavor.
Dry Monterey Jack - (8 oz.) a Californian hard cheese made with cow's milk that developed a nutty flavor during the aging process.
Matured Mimolette - (6 oz.) an eye-catching cheese that has a butterscotch aroma and a flavor that intensifies as times passes.
Parmigiano Reggiano - (8 oz.) known as the grating cheese in Italian dishes, but it is also a great full flavored cheese that you can savor with any wine.
Served with very thin Natural Cripsbread crackers and a small presentation knife. You only have to serve the cheese on a nice wooden or slate cheese board, open the bottle of sherry wine and you're all set.
