Zinfandel, or Zin for insiders, has become a trendy wine, after years of playing second fiddle to the Cabernet Sauvignon. Zinfandel is still a wine that has many confused; what is it's origin, how to classify it, and on top of that Zinfandel comes in many flavors and aromas.

We have selected 4 gourmet cheeses that pair just fine with a full bodied Zinfandel:
Pecorino Toscano (8 oz.) - an aged Italian sheep's milk cheese with a nutty, olivey flavor and a hint of sharpness.
Taleggio (8 oz.) - another Italian cheese, but this one is a washed rind, lovely soft when at room temperature, but a stinky one.
Traditional Mature Cheddar (8 oz.) - an English classic, matured over 13 months during which it started to develop sharpness, but the overall flavor is still rather mild.
Dry Monterey Jack (8 oz.) - Made like fresh Monterey Jack and further aged for another 7 to 10 months. This gourmet cheese is firm, pale yellow with a sweet nutty flavor; great for grating, shredding, slicing, cooking or just plain eating.
