Reypenaer VSOP
From: $15.32
Reypenaer V.S.O.P. is truly a Dutch gourmet cheese showpiece. Magnificent and well deserved of the V.S.O.P. designation. This delicious gourmet cheese from the Netherlands is matured for about 2 years and during that maturation sheds approximately 25% of its original weight. The white spots you will see on the surface indicate the start of mineral and protein crystallization. In comparison to most cheeses that are aged from a few weeks to a few months, this is a masterpiece long in the making. We also have a Reypenaer, aged for just 1 year and already tasting 'old' and the oldest of the bunch a Reypenaer XO Reserve which is aged 3 years. Aroma and flavor are superb. Sharp and tangy. Well r...
Reypenaer
From: $11.34
Reypenaer cheese, one of the great Dutch cheeses, is carefully matured for about 1 year. This Dutch gourmet cheese is aged less than the Reypenaer VSOP, although it is already very old as cheeses go. It does not have the sharper tangy taste of the Reypenaer VSOP, instead it has a soft and creamy flavor that lingers on the palate. Simply delicious! At the International Nantwich Cheese Show (UK) in 2007, Reypenaer was awarded Gold Trophy for Best Continental cheese. This cheese is ideal for serving on a cheese board for that special occasion, at the table, and for cutting off small slices and decadently enjoying with your favorite beverage. Reypenaer sliced is a perfect accompaniment in buil...
Esrom
Your Price: $7.12
Esrom is made in flat rectangular shapes and is usually wrapped in foil. The yellow paste has a supple texture with irregularly shaped holes. The flavor is quite rich and aromatic and seems to grow on the palate. It gains even more spicy flavors and a stronger aroma as it ages. Invented in the 1930s, this cheese was said to resemble Port Salut and was, for a time, named Danish Port Salut. In fact, it is a much more interesting cheese than Port Salut. In the 1950s it was renamed for a long-forgotten cheese made by the monks of Esrom. Well wrapped and kept in a cool place, Esrom will keep for a couple of weeks....
Snofrisk

Snofrisk is a perfectly white Norwegian spreadable cheese made from 80% goat's milk with 20% cow's milk cream. The flavor of this cheese is fresh, mild and soft with a slight tangy after taste. It is easy to spread and would do great in a cheese cake and is delicious just on a piece of rustic bread or cracker. The triangle container holds 4.4 ounces and we sell them in pairs....
Gruyere
Your Price: $9.80
The milk for the Swiss gourmet cheese Gruyère is brought to the dairy by the producers, and every delivery is strictly controlled and analyzed. The milk will undergo no thermic treatment until its transformation into cheese. This guarantees the preservation of the flora that gives Gruyère AOC its typical taste. The cheese maker adds the cultures that will mature the milk. Once maturation is achieved, the cheese maker adds the rennet. In the space of 3 or 4 minutes, the contents of the vat totally changes in appearance. A warm odor fills the dairy. After about three months, the Gruyère cheese wheels are transported to a "finishing house" to complete their maturation (several more months are...
Shropshire Blue
Hurry only 1 left at this price. Was $7.72 Sale Price: $3.86
Shropshire Blue cheese was originally invented and produced in Scotland, but is now made by some of the Stilton cheese producers. Indeed, it is made in exactly the same way as Stilton except that annatto is added to the milk with the starter culture and the mold. This British gourmet cheese has nothing to do with Shropshire. Shropshire Blue cheese comes in drums with a rough brown rind. The paste is bright orange in color with vivid blue veining. The texture is firm and creamy, but also slightly crumbly. The flavor is sharper than Stilton and quite distinctive. There is a definite sour or wine-like tang with oranges and lemons but the Shropshire Blue aftertaste is sweet. This fine gourmet ...
Le Vache de Chalais
Your Price: $18.40
Le Vache de Chalais looks like a Banon, and is made from cow's milk, as the name indicates. It is truly a gourmet cheese, wrapped in chestnut leaves or grape leaves that has been soaked in white wine (eau de vie), and tied with raffia. This lovely cheese comes from the Provence, which is the same region as Saint Marcellin. When the cheese is young, it is chalky and crumbly, with a sweet-tart tang, but during ripening, when the leaves become more brittle and turn brown, the cheese becomes creamier. The rind will be covered with a blue-yellow mold crust and is slightly chewy. The flavor is complex and you might need a couple of bites to really appreciate all the flavors. We therefore offer t...
Epoisses
Your Price: $25.73
Epoisses is made in a small town in Burgundy, in France and is one of the great gourmet cheeses of France and of the world. Each gourmet cheese is covered in an edible reddish-brown coating, and underneath that coating is a creamy, soft, white interior with a daunting aroma that comes straight from the farm, often said it is a candidate for the top ten most pungent French cheeses. Epoisses is produced in small discs and is washed in Marc de Bourgogne as it ripens. The flavor is deliciously rustic but also creamy and refreshing with sour lemons lingering on the palate. Because of the strong flavor and aroma of this cheese, it is best served on its own, rather than used in cooking. Truly a gr...
