This stout tastes very well with the cheddar. The flavor is a perfect balance of oats, chocolate malts, and real chocolate and the right amount of hops resulting in a bittersweet finish. The dark stout is also somewhat visible in the cheese as very light brown veins, like marble. Chocolate Stout Cheddar was awarded a second place in the Flavored Cheddar Cheese Category at the American Cheese Society Competition of 2009.
