San Andreas is an artisanal raw sheep milk farmstead cheese from Bellwether Farms in Sonoma County, California. It is a great American version of the Italian Pecorino. The flavor is smooth, creamy, and mild with a refreshingly sour finish. It's a delicous table cheese.
This gourmet cheese is an award winner and received a 2nd Place Ribbon in the Open Category Farmstead Cheese made from Sheep's Milk at the American Cheese Society Competition in Vermont in 2007. We sell this cheese as a wheel of 3 lbs, half a wheel or as a quarter wheel piece of 12 ounces.
