SarVecchio Parmesan won many awards, too many to list all of them individually, be assured this is a super cheese and it will be hard to separate the SarVecchio from the Parmigiano Reggiano. Wisconsin-based Sartori follows the tradition of the greatest cheese of Italy; aged at least 20 months, this Parmesan has a firm, dry, deep golden interior, a distinctive fruity flavor with lightly roasted caramel notes and a crunchy crystal texture.
This American-made Parmesan cheese received a 3rd place at the 2012 competition of the American Cheese Society.
Serve this gourmet cheese with Chianti, Port, Sherry, Asti Spumanti, a light Italian red or if you're a beer drinker, try India Pale Ale, Sweet Cider or a Dark Malty Ale. As food pairings are concerned you can try almost anything, from fruits to chocolate, from nuts to bread. And of course it is an excellent cheese in many of your recipes.
