Guayas 70% Dark Chocolate is made from beans coming from a fertile Guayas river floodplain, indigenous to Ecuador and grown nowhere else in the world. These cocoa beans have been known as 'Arriba' and have long been famous for their fine flavor. This chocolate shows the beauty in flavor that can be achieved using Ecuador's especially flavorful cocoa; rich and chocolately; with flavor hints that are floral, and are reminiscent blackberry, smokiness, spice.

Fine chocolate is a growing industry. Amano is the best reviewed of all the American chocolate makers and their award winning chocolate has been honored by domestic and international associations. All bars have awards from the prestigious London Academy of Chocolate. Guayas was also a winner in the 2012 Good Food Awards in the Chocolate category.

Amano chocolate can pair with fine wines and ports. Tasting gourmet chocolate is very much like tasting fine wine using the same language for descriptions. Chocolate tastings are becoming as popular as wine tastings.

Each 2 oz. bar is individually foil wrapped and beautifully boxed. Each box is printed on high grade paper providing a luxurious feel in the hand. The painting on the Guayas box is an original piece of artwork by artist Douglas Aagard commissioned by Amano Artisan Chocolate.
