Roads were installed that will help ease the difficulties of transporting the freshly picked beans. Wells have been dug that provide fresh, clean accessible water to the farmers.
Drying beds have been built to help dry the beans on a patio so that air circulates around each bean for a more consistent drying process. The organization runs with total transparency to show that they have excellent business practices and long term standing relationships with those that they do business with. It is an honorable, efficient, and necessary organization for these farmers to be a part of.
The local Gayo mountain coffee is not only organic but also very hands-on. The coffee is dehulled, sorted, bagged and loaded into containers all by hand. This ensures any unripe or damaged cherries will be removed by the inspectors and quality is assured throughout the entire process promising a beautiful cup of coffee. Some of the trees here are over 50 years old and because of great care, are still producing magnificent organic beans.
