Like many other great examples Bone Suckin’ Sauce was developed when a guy named Phil Ford, tried to copy his mother's recipe for a western North Carolina-style barbecue sauce. This was 1987. Friends and family told him to sell his sauce and after a couple of years it became reality. The products fame began when Bone Suckin’ Sauce Won 'The NC Battle of the Sauces' in the March 1994. From then on the sauce has received international attention.
