Buckwheat raw Honey is mysterious, opaque and dark brown in color; a stout and complex honey. It can be compared to other sweeteners such as sorghum or molasses. Hints of mossy earth, and a not-so-sweet composition combine to develop a malty flavor with a pronounced bright finish.
This gourmet honey pairs well with blue cheese, mixed with butter and cornbread, oatmeal, or anything maple syrup would be used on. Buckwheat honey is a wonderful addition to traditional recipes when baking hearty breads or honey cake, and is excellent in barbecue sauce.
