Sherry, a Spanish fortified wine made from white grapes that are grown near the town of Jerez and it is great aperitif. Clearly Sherry is the English word for Jerez. Sherry is produced in a variety of styles or degustations; fine, manzanilla, amontillado, oloroso or palo cortado.
Our Sherry Cheese Board has a selection of firm and hard cheeses that do not overpower the wine:
Manchego - (8 oz.) Spain's most famous cheese made with sheep's milk. This gourmet cheese has a firm, dry interior and a nutty, mellow flavor.
Comte - (8 oz.) a French firm cheese, that melts well, is a wonderful nutty, Gruyere-type cheese.
Mimolette - (8 oz.) a distinctive flavor of butterscotch and caramel. The rind is fairly smooth in the young cheese but, as it ages, it becomes thick and deeply pitted.
Parmigiano Reggiano - (8 oz.) known as the grating cheese in Italian dishes, but it is also a great full flavored cheese that you can savor with any wine.
Served with very thin 34 Degrees Natural Crisps. You only have to serve the cheese, open the bottle of sherry wine and you're all set.
