This hallowed British cheese is a favorite of long time cheese lovers. This crumbly gourmet cheese is the oldest-known cheese from England, and the predecessor to modern-day cheddar. It is dense, mildly salty, yellow-orange in color and has a slightly tangy flavor. Cheshire is made using vegetarian rennet and pasteurized cow's milk and is ripened for 2-3 months.

Cheshire Cheese is produced in the English counties of Cheshire and the neighboring four counties of Denbighshire, Flintshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire. Reputed to have been made since Roman times, the cheese is also mentioned in the Domesday Book of the 11th century.

One of its defining features is the crumbly texture. Try it as a snack, crumbled over salad, or on a cheese board. Try a simple fruity Pinot Noir from either California or Burgundy. For a white, try an oaky Chardonnay, steely Alsatian Riesling, or a fruity Sauvignon Blanc. A Pale Ale is a good match to Cheshire as well.

We hand-cut and wrap this cheese in wedges of 1 pound and 8 ounces or you can purchase an entire wheel of approx. 9 pounds.

Ingredients:pasteurized cow's milk, salt, diary cultures, color annatto, vegetable rennet.
Just like from home, crumbly and delicious! Came quickly, and was packed with dry ice.

This is very good Cheshire and Cheshire is one of the world's greatest cheeses. The cheeses that were shipped to me (arriving still with ice in the packing) were a credit to Cheshire cheese. However... Cheshire is now out-of-stock! And the world is under lockdown. That these things happen at the same time cannot possibly be a coincidence. Cheshire-lovers everywhere, we have discovered a dire plot against civilization.

This is the best, the freshest, the tastiest Cheshire cheese I have found.

Crumbly, buttery, spreadable...great with crackers or on warm toast.

Best Cheshire cheese I've found in the US. Fresh tasting with just the right amount of crumble. Very well packed and arrived quickly
