The Trout Caviar is truly impressive; they are the glistening jewels of the Sea. The caviar comes from rainbow trout farmed in France, sustainable and fresh. The French Trout Caviar is succulent and very mild in flavor, unlike Salmon Roe, Trout Caviar is very mild in flavor.

The caviar has firm large pearls that have an exciting pop when eaten. What makes this Trout Caviar superior to others is the firm and well distinguished pearls and its clean smooth taste. It is translucent and sparkles when examined and the Flavor is very smooth and fresh, even slightly sweet. This is an excellent Caviar to enjoy on some scrambled eggs, on a seared fish filet or simply on a French Blini with a dollop of Creme Fraiche.

This obviously isn't a sturgeon caviar but a roe. Now with that in mind, the taste was amazing. Fresh and lemony at the start - fruity notes and no unpleasant aftertaste. The individual eggs are about half the size of salmon pearls but the flavor is much milder and a little nuttier. Not overly salty or fishy like the lumpfish roes. I preferred this to salmon eggs which I primarily use as a garnish for seafood pasta dishes or in sushi. But this trout roe can be eaten on water crackers with whipped cream cheese or creme fraiche (I actually preferred the cream cheese because of how delicate the flavor of this roe is). Or with some sour cream on top of an omelette. I highly recommend this product if you love caviar like I do!
