A bright green wax rind holds a triple cream Yancey's Fancy's exclusive Norwegian-style cheese. This unique cheese is made with imported Norwegian cultures, creating a very creamy semi-soft cheese.
This award-winning cheese has a pale white-yellow interior, a rich and milky flavor and is similar to cheese like Dutch Roomkaas, German Butterkase, Italian Fontina or a Swedish Farmer Cheese.
Yancey's Fancy started in 1926, when Leo Kutter emigrated from Bavaria, Germany to New York State. It was not called Yancey's Fancy at that time; that only happened 1998. Bergenost was created in 1995 and was awarded a gold medal a few year later in the 1999 New York State Fair Cheese Competition
