Calvander is the most robust of the Chapel Hill Creamery farmstead cheeses. This semi firm cheese is similar to Asiago and can be used in cooking or as an incomparable table cheese.
Named after Calvander Crossroads, the location of an 18th century schoolhouse near the creamery, this tasty cheese has a buttery, nutty taste balanced by a slight tanginess that rounds out the flavor.
We hand cut and wrap this American gourmet cheese in wedges of 8 ounces and 1 pound. You can also buy a wheel of approx. 10 pounds.
