Camembert cheese gets its name from its town of origin in France. It's one of the world's most recognizable cheeses - a small wheel of about 4 inches in diameter, and covered with a 'bloomy' white rind which imparts mushroomy flavor. It is penicillium camemberti that leaves a powdery white velvety bloom on the outside of the cheese, hence the expression bloomy rind.
An excellent addition to any cheese board, also excellent baked in phyllo pastry and served with a fruit compote.
La Bonne Vie Camembert is American-made cheese with a mild buttery flavor and a creamy, almost spreadable texture.
La Bonne Vie Camembert is distinguished by its rich earthy flavor notes and creamy paste and pairs well with water crackers, fresh fruit or sparkling wine like Champagne or Prosecco.
