This Italian-inspired, wine-drenched cheese from Wisconsin is a smash hit. Made by the Sartori cheesemakers, this hard gourmet cheese is inspired by both cheddar and Parmesan, giving it a rich and salty-savory flavor. Each wheel is soaked in Merlot wine, giving the rind a vivid purple hue, and the smell and taste of Merlot. Fruity and fermented flavors perfectly complement the creamy 'BellaVitano' cheese.

Merlot BellaVitano cheese tastes delicious with dried nuts and fruits, crusty Italian or French bread. Try pairing the cheese with wines such as Shiraz, Merlot and Pinot Noir. You can also pair India Pale Ales, hoppy pilsners or wheat beers for a refreshing combination.

Ingredients:Bellavitano cheese (pasteurized cow's milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes), merlot wine (grapes, water, yeast).

I found this cheese in Sam's Club years ago. It is like cheese crack and I am now an cheese addict. It is crazy good and one piece is never enough. Salty, sweet, tangy goodness....yum!

I tried this cheese last year at the grand opening of Kroger store and they were handing out pieces of dried pineapple with a piece of this cheese (Merlot Bella Vitano) and it was so good. I have never had anything like this before and I fell in love with it and I buy it when I can when we go into town to Krogers. The taste to me is unique!!
