Mont Idyll is a Michigan-made version of a cheese from France called Valencay. The name makes more sense when you see it: Mont Idyll is shaped like a little mountain missing its peak. The form is made from goat cheese and painted with the classic gray ash which creates a striking contrast of color.
Lightly aged, this isn't the fresh goat cheese you might use as a spread. This one's a little firmer, but with the same fresh citric flavors. This mountain is a work of art with a delicate rind and defined shape. Quite impressive on a cheese board.
Named a “Best Artisanal Cheese” by Food & Wine Magazine and recipient of many American Cheese Society awards, this cheese is perfect for the connoisseur, foodie, or even casual cheese eater.
