Mt Tam cheese is an organic, soft-ripened, triple-cream cheese made with pasteurized cow's milk from the Straus Family Dairy in California. The cheese is a combination of organic milk and cream. This lovely creamy treasure is named after the Mt. Tamalpais, just north of the San Francisco Bay in Marin County, California.

Mt Tam is one of our most popular triple cream cheeses, smooth, creamy and buttery and soft on the tongue. The cheese is relatively dense and firm, so unlike Bries and many other soft-ripened cheeses, Mt Tam does not ooze when cut into and at room temperature. The flavors of this artisanal gourmet cheese include hints of mushrooms, grass and hay and the aroma should be milky and pleasant.

Mt Tam cheese is not surprisingly a multiple award winner at the American Cheese Society competitions.

Try pairing Mt. Tam with a sparkling wine or a Champagne.

Received this cheese in a basket from Cowgirl Creamery and it quickly became one of my favorites. Smooth and creamy, it is great with pita crackers as a snack. I will keep reordering!

While visiting Stow Lake Boat house, I chose to eat their Sonora Sandwich which is prepared with Mt Tam. I immediately fell in love with this cheese and even though I live in Alabama I will be a regular customer. If you are a sandwich lover, do yourself a favor and make your favorite sour dough bread sandwich with Mt Tam, I had mine with turkey, greens and tomato, it was wonderful!

Delicious. I confused this with a different cheese from Cowgirl Creamery (Red Hawk) when I purchased it, and was very pleasantly surprised. Soft like room temperature brie even when cold from the fridge, and smooth and creamy. Even the rind was delicious.
