Prairie Breeze Cheddar Cheese is Milton Creamery's twist on a well-aged white Cheddar style cheese, aged for a minimum of 9 month. This cheese is sweeter than your typical cheddar with lots of flavor, crumbly yet creamy with a little crunch from the calcium crystals developed during the aging process.
This American artisan cheese, made in the Midwest might surprise you. The milk is sourced from local, small dairy farms. All milk comes from 30 miles of the facility from herds that are managed and milked by the immediate family and have no more than 120 animals. Furthermore, the milk Milton Creamery uses is from cows free from artificial growth hormones. A great cheese that you deserve to try.
On May 8, 2006 Milton Creamery made its first batch of cheese and in 2009, Rufus and Jane Musser, owners of this Southern Iowa Creamery brought home their first cheese award from the US Cheese Championship. Prairie Breeze Cheddar won Best of Class in the Open Hard category. Many more blue ribbons have been awarded across multiple categories and cheeses.
