Many regions in Italy have their own special pasta shape, Caserecce or Casarecce is one of them. It simply means home-made and it is from Sicily.
The pasta look like a twisted tube, a twisted towel if you like and it is great for chunkier and creamy sauces, and in casserole dishes. It is also called Strozzapreti.
Our Caserecce is made by Pastificio Afeltra that was established way back in 1848, when processing pasta was the mainstay of Gragnano’s economy.
Ingredients:durum wheat semolina, water.
