Raclette cheese may be the world's most famous melting cheese, and it is made in the Savoie region of the Alps, in Switzerland and in France. Our French raclette cheese is made of cow's milk and matured for at least 5 months in respect of the French cheese tradition. It is during this long ripening period that the flavor and excellent melting qualities develop. French Raclette has a semi-soft interior dotted with small holes and a rosy sticky rind. Melted, it tastes creamy and fruity. This French gourmet cheese is a little more aromatic than its Swiss cousin.

It is used to make a dish, which also goes by the name 'raclette', or served with boiled potatoes, pickles, and cured meats. The accent in Raclette dining is always on sociable eating and drinking.

We cut and wrap this cheese in 3 sizes: approximately 1 pound, 8 ounces, a 1/4 wheel (approximately 3.5 pounds) and 1/2 wheel (approximately 7 pounds).

Please note that wheels vary in total weight, you will be charged for the actual weight of the quarter and half wheels that you will receive.

Ingredients:pasteurized cow's milk, salt, lactic starters, vegetal rennet.
My mother was delighted with the French Rachlette. She is an 89 year old WWll war bride from France and we try to find things she loves to eat. It's been 20 yrs since she has been to France so any goodies we come up with puts a smile on her face. Thanks for making mom happy.
