this cheese is fantastic I discovered it in the UK a few years ago and found it to be mild enough for my taste, yet with enough flavor to satisfy.....it crumbles nicely and the cranberries add a tart yet sweet combination
altogether, this cheese is one of my favorites I wish I lived in Wensleydale
I grew up on a dairy in Somerset and knew well the Yorkshire Wensleydale cheeses. This is a marvelous example of a crumbly, deftly-made, slightly sweet cheese with a marvelous acidic bite that turns to a warm, honey glow on the tongue. Our family made great cheeses but nothing like this. A good cheddar is really nice with sandwich and soup or as a snack. Wensleydale is a fabulous treat with a meal, salads, or as a complement to a good port.
This is a great cheese with the cranberries it is tart and sweet and cheesey
found the cheese in the uk several years ago and tried it and now I have it shipped as a special treat.
Mmmm. This is my absolute favorite cheese. A friend of mine served it at a holiday party, with butter crackers. I'm hooked. What a treat. Tampa, FL, USA
This cheese is simply wonderful, melt in your mouth divine. Makes a divine grilled cheese also. But at room temperature, just Trying to nibble small pieces makes you want to eat every morsel that crumbles from it as you cut it. Oh my, yummmmm
I believe the Wendsleydale cheese w cranberries is what my daughter use to make our post thanksgiving turkey paninis! They were out of this world! Leave a note here if you want the recipe to how she made these, you won't be sorry! As she cut the cheese for the grilled sandwiches I ate the crumbled pieces! What a delight! So creamy and melts in your mouth! Tastes even better on a panini! Let's see, just add some sliced turkey breasts, spinach leaves, the cheese of course, and spread cranberry sauce on one side of bread. Put them together and you have heaven in a sand which! I like to use the whole cranberry sauce for this recipe. I just run my sauce through my Ninja processor so it's smooth. No disappointments to be had!
First tasted this wonderful cheese on Cunard's Queen Victoria last month as part of a breakfast cheese platter. The headwaiter photocopied the label so that I was able to look it up on the Internet and found it at Gourmet-Food. My order arrived beautifully packed, and I have been enjoying it for a month now. Refrigerated in a sealed container, it keeps very well.
An excellent cheese for more than just dessert. Crumbly, but doesn't have any dryness to it.
