Pate au Poivre Noir or Black Peppercorn Pate is a delicately ground pork pate sprinkled with crunchy black peppercorns. This gourmet pate is one of the creations of Les Trois Petits Cochons (The 3 Little Pigs that came from France) who started in 1975 as a small charcuterie in the heart of New York's Greenwich Village. Among their satisfied customers were Mimi Sheraton, James Beard, and others. They got the idea to open a bigger store and years later in 1990, they expanded their operation and moved to their 'House of Bricks', in Wilkes Barre, PA.
Les Trois Petits Cochons is recognized for using all-natural, high quality ingredients and by crafting small, handmade batches; the black peppercorn pate pairs traditionally well with French Baguette, Tuscan Bread, Rustic Bread and full-bodied red wine.
