When you like anchovies, don't bother with a small tin or jar, use this larger tin. Scalia, the manufacturer behind these anchovies is located in Southern Italy, on the island of Sicily and they pack their anchovies in extra-virgin olive oil. Scalia is in the fish business since 1973 and they preserve these anchovies the old-fashioned/traditional way.

These anchovies are caught during the right season, immediately cleaned and salted and then aged for at least 12 weeks, developing a rich and more complex flavor.

Try this Mediterranean staple, the way the local do, in sauce, salads, pizza, tapas, antipasto etc. Basically on everything.

Ingredients:anchovies, extra virgin olive oil, salt.
The anchovies we got on our Caesar were so good we asked the waitress what brand they were. These were what she had served us. We persuaded her to sell us a can, big rectangular one like this. They lasted a couple of years, and remain the best anchovies we have tasted. There may be others as good or better, as my experience is limited, but there are a lot out there that are downright nasty by comparison. A lot more people would like anchovies if these were what they got.
