Whether you believe the legend that a cheesemaker's goat cheese accidentally rolls off the table into a barrel of wine and is found after a couple of day or you may believe that this cheese was created with the intend to create something different - this Spanish goat cheese is a success.
Drunken Goat cheese or Queso de Murcia al Vino is a young cheese, made of pasteurized goat's milk and soaked in Monastrell wine for about 3 days and aged for just a couple of months. This gourmet cheese is made in the Murcia region of Spain, which is southeast of Spain, at the Mediterranean coast.
This semi-soft cheese is mild in flavor, and clear sweet and spicy, subtle finish from the wine. The Drunken Goat cheese has a dark violet rind and a pliable white interior. Pair this cheese with grapes, honey and crusty bread and sip a red wine.
We hand-cut and wrap this cheese in wedges of 7 ounces. You can also purchase an entire wheel of approximately 5 pounds.
